This week's theme has been Episode II - Attack of the Clones, if you've missed it (I do recommend checking it out, there's some very fun what-ifs in there).

Have fun!

Welcome to the Monday chat corner! This week, it's time to talk about ***Episode II: Attack of the Clones***. Now that I'm thinking about it, it's interesting that there's such a big time skip between Episode I and Episode II. The Original Trilogy has time skips too, but they're very subtle, and the Sequels have nearly none. That makes me wonder... if you were to replot the Prequel Trilogy to eliminate this skip, how would you do this? What would you change, and how? Characters, settings, plot points...? (...I'm aware this sounds like a writing assignment but I swear I'd love to know, this is *crunchy*!)

Welcome to the Monday chat corner!

Did you know that there have been radio adaptations of all three movies of the original trilogy? The first two were produced in 1981 and 1983, but for the last one the listeners had to wait until 1996.

I don't really expect that anyone here has heard them, but if you did, please share! For the rest of us: would you be interested in it? Or, to widen the topic a bit, what about other audio-based and SW-related content: do you listen to SW audio books or podcasts?

Welcome to the Monday chat corner!

This week's topic is "Star Wars: Kanan", the 2015 comic series that shows the backstory of Kanan Jarrus, one of the protagonists of the Rebels TV series.

You probably know the drill by now. Have you read it? Did you like it? Would you recommend it?

Wookieepedia helpfully informs me that events in this comic now contradict with the animated series The Bad Batch, which is interesting, on a meta level if nothing else.

This week's general topic is "drugs". What do people in GFFA get high on? Is spice something you cook with, or something you cook your brain with? And how bizarre is it that it's mined?

Welcome to the Monday chat corner!

It's time for a SW movie again, and we're back at the beginning with Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

Fun fact, this is the fourth time we are talking about this movie. (Well. If anyone comments on this post. I'm not completely delusional, I know this comm is pretty quiet.)

I feel like there's something wrong with my math, because in previous years we've hit TPM somewhere in May. I haven't missed a movie, have I??? Maybe one of the "specials" fell on a movie week in previous years and not in this one.

Ah, well. Maybe Disney will finally drop another movie, so it will square up again.

Welcome to the Monday chat corner!

The topic for this week are "young reader" Star Wars books. There's no convenient list of "children books" on Wookieepedia (that I know of), but you can filter them out on the timelines of Legends media and Canon media, here's all the Golden Books (there have been Scratch and Sniff SW books???), and here's a list of Disney canon young-reader novels.

Have you read a SW book as a kid? Have you bought one for your own kids or a relative? Which SW stories do you think are a great children book material, and which definitely aren't? Including fanfic - I mean, the porn is obviously off the table, but some of the more original AUs...

Welcome to the Monday chat corner!

Between this week and the next, I'm going to muddle the themes a little between Legends and Canon. This week, our topic is "short stories" - all and every possible Star Wars short story you have read, written, or just encountered in the wild.

Have you ever read a SW short story? Where? In an anthology, a magazine, on a website? Do you have an anthology you'd recommend?

And... well, short stories are probably the closest thing to fanfiction. What are your thoughts about that? Do you see a difference, and if so, what kind? Have you ever read a fanfic that felt like it ought to be officially published... or a short story that felt more like a fanfic?

This week's topic is nobility and royalty - the queens and kings, princes and princesses, counts, dukes, and all the other titled elite of the Galaxy Far Far Away.

(Do Jedi Knights count? I don't know! What do you think?)

Welcome to the Monday chat corner!

The topic for this week is Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the last move of the Sequel trilogy and (so far) the last ever Star Wars movie.

Come to chat! Some prompts, should you need them:

  • If you could ask anybody a question about this movie, what question it would be, and who would you ask?
  • Is there a question you would like to be asked about this film? (And how would you answer?)

This week's topic is the novel "Shadows of the Empire" - set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, it invents a brand new antagonist for both our heroes and Darth Vader in the person of Prince Xizor.

What do you think? Have you read it? Would you read it? Have you ever heard of the lizard-y prince?
