annathecrowThis comm is meant as a general meeting place for SW fandom on DW. “SW fandom” covers anything Star Wars related, whether it’s movies, TV shows, books, games, or LEGO sets.
We do weekly "chat corner" discussion posts, but you're welcome to post anything you'd like to share: rec lists, screenshots, watch-alongs, memes, serious discussions about GFFA politics, behind-the-scene news… if it’s Star Wars, it’s fair game.
annathecrowHi all,
this is the weekly chat corner. (Er. Weekly-ish.) Here you can talk about Star Wars, if you have something Star Wars to talk about.
My Star Wars thing is that I'm extremely on the fence about signing up for Star Wars Rare Pairs Exchange. On one hand, ew, homework. On the other, the peeps on Discord are so very excited and it's catching.
What about you, any recent Star Wars related fandom events you've taken part in, skipped out on, are looking forward to?
annathecrowHi,
this is the weekly chat corner, where we chat about Star Wars. Do you have something to tell us?
~ ~ ~
I'll be stereotypical: September => return to school => how's schooling in GFFA? => I don't remember any universities...
Of course there are universities. (Also "schools".) I'd bet 90% of these are throwaway mentions by writers that never get mentioned again - which makes sense, you don't want every character to go to the same school and also, book writers probably don't go raiding Wookieepedia for already-canon content (like us fic writers do)
I wonder if GFFA has something like the Ivy League, or Oxford and Cambridge, or Sorbonne.
annathecrowHi,
the weekly chat corner is here. Do you have something Star Wars related to share?
~ ~ ~
I shouldn't pick up a new hobby, but also, there's this Revell X-Wing kit in my bookmarks and I'm SO TEMPTED. (Have you ever picked up a new hobby because of SW, or considered it?)
annathecrowHello,
this is the weekly chat corner. Come tell us your Star Wars thoughts, we like to read Star Wars thoughts.
~ ~ ~
SW thought: when I first saw tookas in The Clone Wars, instead of seeing them as having fur, I thought they're smooth, like leopard geckos. I still like that version better.
annathecrowHello,
I'm here with another weekly chat post, in case you're in the mood for Star Wars. Are you in a mood for Star Wars?
~ ~ ~
I have seen two Star Wars video essays by EckhartsLadder (We're still suffering from the Sequel's "World Building" and Why this battle was so damn weird) - not my favorites, but entertaining. If you don't know them yet, EckhartsLadder does interesting analysis of SW, especially when it comes to worldbuilding and military, if you're into that. (Spacedock is another I enjoy.)
Do you also watch SW related videos on YouTube? What kind? Reviews, analyses, fanvids,...?
annathecrowHi,
this is the weekly chat corner. Come talk Star Wars, if you're in the mood!
~ ~ ~
I like to make playlists for stories I write to figure out the mood I'm going for; I listened to a few of them today, all for Star Wars fics, and now I'm in the mood to pick up two of those stories again. I like when that happens!
Do any of you also use music as a part of your writing process?
annathecrowHi,
the weekly chat corner is here, in case you want to tell us something Star Wars related. How have you all been?
~ ~ ~
I'm wondering what my next Star Wars canon/Legends media will be. Aside from the random fanfiction binge, mostly from my collection, I haven't read/watched anything for a long while. I'm aaaaalmost feeling like picking something up, though. Maybe something from the book or comic TBRs... but shhh, lets not frighten my motivation, or it'll disappear to parts unknown again XD
What about you? Do you know what your next SW thing is gonna be?
annathecrowHello,
it's the weekly chat corner. (On a very numerically pleasing date.) Do you have something Star Wars related to chat about?
~ ~ ~
The Taggle anon period has just ended! I am going to brag about my fics later in the week, but here is a link to all the "Star Wars - All Media Types" fics in the collection for you to enjoy.
annathecrowHi,
weekly chat corner, this is. Talk about Star Wars, here, you should.
(I can't believe it took me literal years to write Yoda Speak in one of these posts! 😆)
~ ~ ~
Somewhat random: do you remember ever seeing a protagonist play a musical instrument in a Star Wars story? I don't. Maybe in some of the many many EU media I haven't read... Rogue Squadron would be a series where I'd expect it, actually - some scene showing the pilots' free time activities, perhaps.
It's interesting, what makes it into big canons like SW, and what doesn't.
annathecrowHi there,
this is the weekly chat corner. If you have something Star Wars-y to say, this is the best* place to do it.
~ ~ ~
In only few minutes, the AO3 collection of ![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png){kind=small}
taggle will go live, and I know for sure there are some Star Wars works in it. By the time you're reading this, you may be able to check them out! 👀
* No objective measurement of audience size, reach, or other metrics has been performed.
annathecrowHi,
this is the weekly chat corner. Come and talk about anything Star Wars you'd like.
~ ~ ~
No thoughts, Crow's brain is toast. I hope you're all having a nice summer (or winter, if you're on the other side of the planet).
annathecrowHello,
this is your regular chat corner, to talk about whatever Star Wars things you're in the mood for. Anything you'd like to share?
~ ~ ~
We're at the peak of a heatwave, so the only Star Wars association I have at the moment is Tatooine. 🥵 Would you want to visit Tatooine, if you could? How long would be your ideal trip, and where would you go?
annathecrowHi!
Welcome to the weekly chat corner, to talk about all things Star Wars.
...do you have something Star Wars you'd like to talk about?
~ ~ ~
I'm currently playing taggle, a Battleship-like multifandom exchange/game, and I've already written one Star Wars fic I feel pretty good about 👀
Also! The prompt collection is open to non-participants too, so if you have some ships or "what if"s you'd like to see written or illustrated, this is a very good opportunity! They might not get picked up of course, but the players need to create a lot of works, often for weird combos of tags. The odds are not going to get much higher!
annathecrowHi,
this is the weekly chat corner, to discuss all things Star Wars.
~ ~ ~
It's officially summer: last night I went to sleep hours after my usual bedtime because I was canning cherries. "fruit and Star Wars" makes me think of The Pear Scene, obviously, which I would rather not.
"summer and Star Wars"... honestly? Kit Fisto, for some reason. Is it the water? Probably the water. OH, and the TCW version of Quinlan Vos, who really, really reminds me of a surfer dude. Hmm, Beach AU...
annathecrowHello,
welcome to the weekly chat corner (the fact that it falls on the 1st pleases me greatly). Have anything SW related to talk about?
~ ~ ~
We need to talk about Aunt Beru's roses.
As the SW lore developed, Tatooine has turned into a near-caricature Death World, and it's not like it isn't there in the first movie either. (They farm water!) And yet: because, I assume, nobody was going to tell the owners of the house in Tétouan that they chop down their plants, the farmstead on a planet so horribly hot that it sometimes sounds ridiculous is... pleasantly green, actually.
Gosh, I love it when Star Wars is being silly.
annathecrowHello,
this is your regularly scheduled Star Wars chat post. Come and talk!
(How was The Mandalorian and Grogu?* I have heard gossip about bad ticket sale numbers and this understandable yet offputing article, but otherwise I Know Nothing.)
annathecrowHi,
this is the weekly chat post again. Do you have any Star Wars news, thoughts, or feels?
annathecrowHi,
this is your weekly chat post. Come and share your SW thoughts!
If you missed it, goodbyebird posted a link to a Star Wars icon collection - maybe you'll find something to expand your collection...
~ ~ ~
Inspired by nothing in particular: one of the UFOs (Un-Finished Objects) in my craft stash is these Rebel Alliance Wrist Warmers. I'm maybe a third through the first one and it already looks lovely, but since it's my first ever colorwork it's taking forever. I do most of my knitting as a fidget, either during work meetings or when visiting family, so projects where I have to focus a lot aren't a great fit. Still, I like them. Maybe I'll get them done by winter.
Have you ever tried any Star Wars related crafts?
goodbyebirdannathecrowHello,
happy Star Wars Day! This is your weekly chat post. Come and talk!
~ ~ ~
The cat spilled tea on me, I had to change, and so I'm actually wearing Star Wars themed pants today :D
The May the 4th Be With You Fanworks Exchange archive is live! I already have at least one new favorite, but I'm pretty sure I'll find more.
(I haven't bought and games - yet. Still a few days to go...)
