Yeah I hate the ship too, “You treat me like shit and hurt people I care about...but we have a mystical connection!” *Puke*
I’m not a fan in general of pairings where an external force (literally the Force this time lol) is responsible for someone’s feelings towards another as it makes me feel like they wouldn’t be together otherwise.

externally forced pairings -- I feel the same! It makes a relationship feel almost coerced. I mean, it's interesting as a concept, but not as a base for the actual romance, if that makes sense?

Anyway, in this specific case, we're shown no actual reason for them to be attracted to each other romantically! They have ~mystical connection~, but even from Kylo Ren's end that doesn't explain anything. Why romance? So he finds himself bonded to this girl ~on the astral plane~, or whatever. He wants her as an apprentice (that's stated, multiple times). And then...?

(Heteronormativity strikes again, I guess.)
