Hi,

welcome to the weekly chat corner. How have you been?

I think I'd like to collect more (not just) Star Wars fanart. As inspiration for my own drawing, but also, fanart is just nice, you know? I need to think about the "how", though. I have a Pinterest board, but P is way too good at stripping authorship from art - I have no idea who made most of the pieces I've pinned, and that's a bummer. Saving image files on a hard drive isn't that much better, though...

Do you like SW fanart? How do you consume it? Do you collect it somehow?

Mostly, I see the curated stuff people reblog on tumblr, rather than seeking it out myself directly from the tags.

My general rule for fan art is to save anything I like to desktop, with the original source (tumblr, etc), creator name, and work title in the file name for easy organization.

I don't save fanart anymore, but back when I did, I'd always add the creator to the file name.

Mostly I see fanart on Tumblr now, and if I like it enough, I'll save it to desktop with the art and creator name as the file name.

If I like fanart I see, I will rec it at the weekly posts at [community profile] recthething. If I like it a lot, I'll include it in my periodic rec lists (also shared there and at [community profile] recs and at Pillowfort).

I will generally save that art to my hard drive. I have a folder for fanart, with subfolders for particular fandoms. Also add the artist name to the file name.

I don't think I have more than a piece or two of SW art, mostly because I don't come across it. Fan art is rare to see here, and only a bit more visible at Pillowfort. I mostly see Merlin fanart because I'm subscribed to a Tumblr feed for it here.
