As usual, The Dark Side post, for complaints and rantiness, is a thing that exists.

I wasn't surprised to see a Galaxy's Edge cookbook at the link since (a) Disney never misses a marketing trick and (b) They had to think a lot about food when opening the new theme park. Other than Bantha milk I couldn't recall any particular food connected to the verse. Armies on the move tend to be a source of MREs and ration bars rather than really appealing foodstuffs. The one meal scene I can remember was when Padme takes Anakin home to her family.

I know that in fanfic I was recently reading a series that focused a lot on tea drinking, but even that tended to gloss over food I think.

Oh lol, yeah, if there's an iconic Star Wars food, it's ration bars. Maybe it's me projecting, but it feels like the fic writers heaved a big relieved sigh that they have one easy thing to use. XD

Yes, I’ve always been curious about the food in Star Wars. Like what doesn’t Nabooian fruit taste like? Or rotisserie Krayt dragon?

I also have some headcanons about certain planets and their dishes, like for example Naboo having pasta, baked goods, seafood, and fresh veggies and fruits. (Kinda like a mix of Italian, French, and Mediterranean cuisines).

Oooh, a perfect opportunity to drop a link to one of my favorite little Star Wars things: the Dex's Diner menu! Lots of fun food items and terrible puns. This is also, funnily enough, the publication in which the days of the week were first established.

Thanks for sharing that! I only skimmed so far, but I definitely want to read it all. I think I enjoy the commentary more than the menu itself, since all the in-jokes are funny but go far over my head XD
