Chat corner 116: Dark Empire

Welcome to the Monday chat corner!

For this week’s Legends topic, I’ve dug out the 90s Dark Horse comics series Star Wars: Dark Empire, which according to its Wookieepedia entry looks like the inspiration for the infamous Palpatine-clone-shaped plot twist of the third Sequel movie! Innnnnteresting.

Has anyone read this? Is anyone interested? I’ve already got my mitts on a scan, and if nothing else the art is VERY nineties comics…

I ended up skimming this purely out of curiosity about the art! It is so very ’90s.

The comic itself wasn’t really my cup of tea, but I did enjoy the glorious hamminess of Clone!Palpatine, who swans about in a Dracula-esque high-collared cape and is prone to shouting things like “Curse you Skywalkers!”.
