I am going to start with the classics, if you will, of clone vids fandom:

9 to 5 by

eruthros, which is Lego Star Wars, and contains clone troopers and stormtroopers both. This is just immensely fun.

Toy Soldiers by deirdre, which is TCW, and exclusively about the clones. Anti-war and also kind of sad, but extremely well done.

Does anyone have anything else?

I love LEGO SW and find it so underappreciated, so this was great fun to see.

Sad indeed, but very apt. I so associated that song with thuvia parth's excellent MCU vid but there are parts so much more pertinent to CW, such as the factory, the "hurry please, more of these", and puppet show. Ouch.

I hear lots of good things about LEGO SW, but of course haven't checked it out myself. It does make for a good source for the vid, with the cartoon violence etc!

The song is extremely pertinent to TCW, right down from the title. Are the clones not, on a meta level, toy soldiers for a children's cartoon? And then there's the stuff like "hurry please, more of these".

I have made three full-length vids for Star Wars:

Would You Mind If I Killed You?, Obikin + canon Anidala, canon-typical violence, about, well, Anakin's Fall and Obi-Wan going "What have you done???" over it.

Leave This Place Alive, Female Jedi Consular, massive spoilers for the end of the Consular questline. This song really vibed with the Consular questline and the conflict with the final boss, so I made a vid for it.

Common People, class issues deconstruction of Padmé Amidala and the Anidala relationship. Covers Shmi's death and George Lucas's ???? decision to start the Grand Epic Romance when Anakin was all of nine years old, in addition to the class stuff. No RotS footage.

I have made two Star Wars vids to date, both Sequel Trilogy:

-Rival is a juxtaposition of Rey's two "descents into the underworld" journeys set to a Ruelle song, because I couldn't get it out of my head. It's moody and atmospheric and introspective, and these sequences are some of my favorite parts of the Sequel Trilogy.

-Hero's Call is about Luke Skywalker's arc in The Last Jedi, again because I couldn't get this song out of my head while I was writing fic about the Battle of Crait. Is this song overused and cliche? Maybe, but I had fun with it.

I'm currently brainstorming a Finn-centric vid, but who knows if/when it will get off the ground (by which I mean, it's running on endless loop in my head, I just have to buckle down and actually make it). I just started making vids a few months ago, so there's still a lot of things I still have to learn, but I've been having a lot of fun stitching things together while yelling at my computer.

As a longtime Legends fan, I would like to give a special shout-out to the fanvids featuring Luke's love interests who never made a film appearance, so the vidders had to edit footage from an entirely different movie to make it work. Talk about dedication to your OTP! Mostly this means Natasha Romanoff from the MCU subs for Mara Jade, but I have seen at least one Callista vid as well.

I haven't watched the sequels but I love your editing choices! If you want to stuff some extra knowledge into your head,

vexercises just ended/is ending for 2022, but there's a plethora of resources given for each of the exercises which could inspire you to try something out.

Multi-source shipping vids are really hardcore, I agree. I wonder how they match the source quality between 80s source and 00s source, but not enough to track anything down, lol.

Thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed them! Thanks for the link to the vexercises, too--I've see a few vids based on these floating around in the wild but it's good to see it all in one place. I will have to try these - the pekakucha in particular looks like it has the opportunity to be extremely difficult and extremely fun if I can pick the right clips/songs to work with! Most of my vids originate with me being blindsided by a song-image combo and then having to track down the material to make it a reality, so working with a specific goal in mind is going to be a different change of pace.

A tried-and true tactic of the shipping vids is to cut from one source to the other, so that it looks like one character is talking to the other just off-screen, though I have seen some genuine overlays as well. As you can imagine, the results are HIGHLY variable, and not always successful, but I admire them for trying!

The vexercises are something that can make for some very paint-by-numbers stuff, but sometimes what one really needs is to be pushed outside one's comfort zone, or to learn a technique that ends up being what makes a future vid. Also no underestimating the power of being forced to come up with a song-image combo. I expect to get a few more SW-y ones at some point, but let's see; I think I need to rest that part for a while.

I haven't seen any SW vid with Mara, but I have seen some absolutely fascinating things done with animated Disney movie footage - stitching together different movies using masking and such. Really cool stuff, even if it wasn't always perfect, image quality-wise.

I have no vidding skill whatsoever, but "What About Everything?" by Carbon Leaf is one of my favorite songs and I like it for every fandom. "What about my broken car?" -Han, probably.

Congratulations, despite what I could recognize as excellent editing, didn't work for me at all due to the lyrics referring to people who were not the characters depicted, but for Gracie it still worked despite that. Perhaps due to the more dreamy quality of the singing? IDK.

OMG, Fett's Vette was hilarious! (I assume the Vette is the speeder? I was originally confused, since Vette is also the name of a NPC in SWTOR. Hm, was she named after the speeder...)

The romance video was very cheesy, but it's impressive that they got all that footage ingame!

I think the song is referring to a "Corellian corvette" but a speeder was just easier to get the in game footage of.
Vette might be named after a ship (Kira wanted to take one so they exist in TOR), it's been ages since I played the Warrior story but isn't Vette not her birth name so maybe when picking a new name she did the Star Wars equivalent of calling yourself Mercedes.

Oh hey! Vids!!!

This motivated me to kick my ass and finally make my own Vexercise Round-up post, so if you want 1-minute-long Star Wars fanvids that will make you hurt, I meekly offer my own attempts.

Other than that, these:

Star Work by Grammarwoman is about the women of Star Wars and set to Britney Spears, which is an inspired choice
Carrie and Gary - A Better Son Daughter is about Carrie Fisher, so not exactly SW, but close enough and it's very good and very sad (yes, I cried.)

Personally I recommend Thor Skywalker’s fanfic videos, particularly his sequel trilogy rewrite with Finn as the protagonist, and the Kenobi rewrite.

IDK what a fanfic video is – is it just re-cutting all the footage of the film + any released deleted scenes to form a different narrative? I think those fall under a slightly different category than vids proper.
