Welcome to this week’s chat corner!
Optional prompt
This week, the optional prompt is “Phasma“, the canon novel about the character of the same name. It came out in 2017, and it was one of the books tied to the second sequel movie, The Last of the Jedi.
Anyone here has read it? Did you like it? Would you recommend it? Phasma has been a fan-popular character after the first movie (certainly also because of Gwendoline Christie’s general charisma) - does the book live up to that?

Date: 2022-08-26 12:45 pm (UTC)That's a nice vid! It's strange to see Windu recentered as a protagonist. I'm not sure I got the story of the vid (or perhaps I'm overthinking the comment - what did you mean by "going against the grain"?), but I liked it a lot. Although the ending, ouch XD
I fell out of vexercises because of Battleship and haven't managed to catch up ;_; Doing three vids (the lyric exercise) atop of that bucket of crazy was just. Too much. (I did the first one! Funeral Bell - it's about Anakin dying, I legit cried when I worked on it.) I want to at least try the color grading exercise, but I don't think I'll manage to complete all of them.
I'm looking forward to that round up post!

Date: 2022-08-26 04:25 pm (UTC)Battleship looked very intense! I'm trying to make something full-length for the final vid, and I have almost a minute figured out but I still need to do the other 3+ minutes... I'm half falling off the bandwagon just with FFFX and Fic in a Box, oops.

Date: 2022-08-26 12:50 pm (UTC)Would you recommend the book? (I mean, I have a mile-long TBR list already, but I don't have much Sequel Era stuff on it yet and I'm intrigued by Phasma as a character.)
I liked Hux as a villain! I enjoyed hating him XD I did not feel a single shred of sympathy for him, it was very refreshing.

Date: 2022-08-27 01:42 am (UTC)I felt like Hux was superfluous and that I would have preferred more screentime for Phasma. I mean, I agree with you about his hateability, I... just didn't need him around as a character.
