Welcome to this week’s chat corner!
Optional prompt
This week, the optional topic is the comic miniseries “Star Wars: Obi-Wan and Anakin“, which features a random war (with dirigibles!), Anakin struggling with his place as a Jedi, and some supremely skeevy Sheev.
Anybody has read it? What did you think about the story, or the art?

Ideally he should be sassing people and also going all "Well, if you twist yourself into a knot of Gordian proportions, the lie I told you will sort of look like the truth, from a certain point of view." Though now I wonder whether there were any consequences for him lying about the tibanna gas.

I didn't think Palpatine's request for Anakin was OOC when I've read it, although I do get your point - he's usually portrayed more as dancing around people with a shark smile than throwing his political weight around. At least the writer didn't try to make Palps trick Mace into it - that I wouldn't believe.
That's why I like the scene as is, tbh: I can believe that Mace would agree to let Anakin go with Palps, even if he didn't like it. He doesn't think Palps is a threat at that point and chooses the lesser evil (the bigger evil being Palpatine causing trouble for the whole Order). Much background angst, ha.
But, ey, personal interpretations etc.
Gotta agree about the rest of the story though, it's dry. The whole Open/Closed conflict is very paint-by-numbers, IMO, clearly there just to have something as stuffing between the Anakin & Palpatine parts. Also, personal gripe, of cooourse the other characters in this story are stereotypical pretty women with interesting facepaint. Ah, comics. *eyeroll* At least I haven't found any sexily contorted spine in this one. XD
