This week, the topic is “Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy”, the book series by Chuck Wendig, which is set after Episode VI. It was published between 2015 and 2017 and its first book, Aftermath, was released just before the first movie of the sequel trilogy.

Well, speaking of, I watched The People vs. George Lucas this weekend. I can't believe there's a whole documentary about being angry about SW lol

Yup! That’s the one with a set of Star Wars fans who didn’t like the prequels.

Meanwhile, little me enjoyed the prequels growing up.

Wouldn’t be too surprised if someone made a doc on fan reactions to the disney sequels on YouTube or something.

I haven’t read them because the author’s attitude on social media utterly turned me off and they apparently aren’t that great quality wise anyway. I did buy the first one before the drama kicked off but it’s somewhere in my garage gathering dust now. Maybe one day I’ll read it to see what the fuss is all about but I’d rather read a book I know I’m more likely to enjoy now that my time is more limited with work etc

Er, yes, I see why they focused on too much vulgarity. I mean, say what you want on your private personal accounts, but if you've got an account to promote yourself professionally that's hardly the place for that sort of rant, no matter what your political leanings.

Yeah that was exactly my problem with it, the lack of professionalism. Justina Ireland is another one who needs a warning, not too smart to keep going on and on about how much you hate white guys when they are literally the biggest buyers of Star Wars products lol

Honestly, I don't have a firm opinion on this. I've been on Tumblr for the entire SJW era, so I've seen all the arguments for and against using aggressive language when expressing social and political topics.

I suppose everyone has the right to their opinions and choosing the way they express them, they just have to accept that some employers won't like to be associated with a certain kind of behavior. Disney being one of those employers. And to be fair to Wendig, I don't think he went off the handle after he was fired, so he seems to understand that.

I liked them. (And Wendig is a bit of a marmite writer, but I don't think he's a bad one!)
