Chat corner 115: Boba Fett

Welcome to the Monday chat corner!

This is a current canon week, so lets revisit a topic we’ve talked about before: the miniseries The Book of Boba Fett.

More than a year after it aired, what do you think? Did it stick in your memory, or are you glad to forget it? Have you watched the whole thing, gave up mid-way, or avoided it entirely?

As a "book" in the current timeline of the overall Disney+ shows, I loved it! I thought it balanced being fun with some heavier themes of Boba and the Tuskens, Boba and loss, Boba and his tribe, etc. Overall I think it added a lot to the story.

I read some of the criticisms of it when it came out and while it's not perfect by any means, most of the criticisms seemed to boil down to some fans' expectations not being met or some fans wanting Disney to focus in a different direction. I don't disagree with either of those points (I can't really, because they are 'opinions'), but my opinion is that it's nonsensical to claim something is "bad" simply because it wasn't what you wanted. For me, it was the story we are given and I aim to enjoy it.

And while I don't often follow creators on social media any longer, I did follow Ming Na from way back and the two leads obviously had so much fun making it.

I re-watched it, in a manner of speaking, to clip for vidding (and I've vidded it more than once - using both Djarin & Grogu footage as well as Boba and Fennec footage).
I do want more of Boba and Fennec adventures, and I'd like to know what happens to the Marhsall -does he become Mayor?
